Cheers to 15 Years!

A Dream Born from Passion

When I started Katie Leamon, my goal was simple: to create a brand that inspired people to connect and celebrate life’s beautiful moments in a meaningful way. I wanted our products to not only be functional but also to carry an essence of craftsmanship – a true reflection of the care that goes into making meaningful connections.

What began as just me, a few sketchbooks filled with ideas and an obsession with stationery, soon grew into the basis of our small business that embraces the art of hand printing, original design and tangible quality. Over the years, we have expanded from greeting cards to notebooks, gift wrap, and a broader selection of carefully designed stationery. But the heart of Katie Leamon has always remained the same: a commitment to quality in both raw materials and service, original creativity and authenticity in design, as well as ethical, sustainable practice.

Celebrating 15 Years of Katie Leamon: A Journey of Creativity, Craft, and Connection

March 2025 marks a monumental milestone for us - 15 years of sharing our passion for beautiful, high-quality stationery and human connection. 15 Years of following a dream to carve my own path in the world, trusting my gut and dedicating time to my craft.... Fifteen Years!!! - as I sit here and reflect, I still can’t quite believe that my little business is well into its teenage years.

We are filled with immense pride and gratitude as we reflect on how far we’ve come since our humble beginnings. From a small idea sparked by love for fine paper, illustration and print to a beloved brand that has found its way into the homes and hearts of so many, this journey has been nothing short of incredible. All be it, not without challenges as with any small business. But it is suffice to say, one thing is for sure, we wouldn’t be here without the unwavering support of our customers, our talented team, and the joy of doing what we love every single day.

A Journey of Growth and Learning

As I look back, it's amazing to see how much we’ve grown, adapted and learnt. Perhaps you were around when we turned 10 in 2020 and read our blog reflecting on how we had grown and the challenges we faced over the first 10 years. As I am sure many small businesses experience, things were challenging but incredibly rewarding. We worked from a small studio, hand-finishing each card, personally packed all your orders, and poured our hearts into every single detail. We learned everything on the go – from mastering printing techniques to understanding global shipping procedures and listening to what our customers really wanted from our products.

With time, we slowly expanded into other products, found suppliers that shared our values of quality and craftsmanship and have never lost sight of the personal touch that made our stationery stand out. We still hand print many of our cards, each individually on our table top press, and hand pack each and every customer order. Every design, every paper choice, and every product release is carefully considered with our customers in mind as we know they share our appreciation of quality and texture. As the digital world has advanced, its helped with the systematic and logistics side of the business but can't replace the tangible nature of manuscript which makes the paper world as relevant as ever.

The Power of Personal Connection

In today’s digital world, there is something special about the art of handwriting. We believe in the magic of handwritten notes, the kind that make people smile when they get one in the post, and experience a visceral emotional response to the paper and hand writing. Whether it’s a birthday card, a thank-you note, or a message of love, our stationery is designed to help people create meaningful connections. We’ve all seen firsthand how a simple card can brighten someone’s day and it is the desire to share that feeling that was the catalyst for the whole company.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of being part of so many important moments in our customers’ lives. From wedding invitations to newborn announcements, we have had the honour of creating stationery that reflects some of life’s most special occasions. I love hearing how our cards have been shared, and it is especially lovely when we hear of friends and family getting one of our cards despite the sender not knowing their connection to us.

The Importance of Sustainability

One of the most important aspects of our journey has been our commitment to sustainability. From the very beginning, we recognised the importance of using eco-friendly materials and reducing our environmental impact. Today, we are proud to say that all of our products are designed with sustainability in mind. We use a mix of either FSC-certified or fully recycled papers, eco-friendly inks, recyclable, plastic free packaging, ensuring that our stationery is as kind to the planet as possible. We are always invested in reducing our carbon footprint where possible with a commitment to using local suppliers and full UK production.
