Whilst travelling Central America, Phil started working on a Cacao farm in Guatemala, it was there he decided that chocolate was his new future. On his return to London, Phil left his job as a Radio Producer at the BBC to study under master chocolatier Paul A Young and renowned American chocolate maker's Mast Brothers, before setting up his own bean-to-bar brand in 2016.

Phil has a hand in every step of the journey, from sourcing the beans in Central America and developing relationships with the farmers all the way through to hand packaging the chocolate himself. When speaking to him he explained that there are so many different varieties of cacao and that the process of making chocolate can be compared to that of Coffee or even Wine, with so many different notes and flavours to taste, it isn't just a case of White, Milk or Dark.

Today Land boasts a range of 6 single-origin flavoured chocolate bars with cacao sourced in Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Venezuela. Land pay more than double that of FairTrade as Phil believes without great Cacao farmers there would be no chocolate.
