Lay Flat Notebooks

A lay flat notebook opens fully flat at every page and stays there - no hand holding the pages down, no spine pulling them back towards you. Ours are A5, sewn-bound and printed on 100gsm paper that takes a fountain pen without bleeding through. Designed in our North London studio and made in England.

Why sewn binding lies flat

Most notebooks are glued at the spine, which is what makes them spring shut. Ours are sewn in sections, so the spine flexes rather than resists. You can write right into the centre of the first page and the last, and the notebook keeps opening flat however well used it becomes.

Blank or ruled

Blank pages suit sketching, journalling and anyone who'd rather not be told where to write. Ruled pages keep notes, lists and letter drafts tidy.

Who they're for

Choosing a cover

Each notebook is numbered by volume, with covers in quiet colours and patterns, from Ochre and Forest to stripes, gingham and wallpaper florals. Keep one for work and one for yourself, or start a shelf of them.
